Breast Augmentation SurgerySurgical Dr. Lee, Cosmetic Surgery

Breast enlargement is the first thing people think about when considering breast surgery. However, that is not the only result gained by breast augmentation surgery. A breast augmentation surgery can also lift your breasts, change their shape and restore lost breast volume due to weight loss or pregnancy. In addition to changing the size of your breasts, you can use this procedure to change the shape of your breasts. For example, some women want more rounded or teardrop breasts. Dr. Lee can also make your breasts more symmetrical if one is larger than the other. He has the combination of cosmetic surgery experience and artistic expertise to produce results you’ll love.

Considerations Before Breast Augmentation Surgery

During your consultation with Dr. Lee, he will do an examination of your breasts and explain all the decision you will need to make for before surgery. He will make recommendations on what will produce the best results and achieve your goals.

Key Decisions

  • Size of Implant
  • Type of Implant
  • Placement of Implant
  • Surface of Implant
  • Location of Incision

Size of Breast Implant

Before you meet with Dr. Lee, it is important to consider the size and shape of breasts you ultimately want to achieve with surgery. He will help you to determine the best implant size with special sizer implants that he has in his office. You will be able to place them under your clothing to see what each size looks like on your frame. Dr. Lee has a trained aesthetic eye and will be able to help you choose the best size for your body.

Type of Breast Implant

There are primarily two types of breast implants; saline, and silicone. Saline implants are inserted while they’re deflated, then filled with a saline solution once they’re in place. Silicone implants are pre-filled with a gel-like material that feels and moves more like your natural breasts. Both types of implants come in a variety of sizes and shapes, and they should last more than 10 years.

Implant PlacementBreast Augmentation, Cosmetic Surgery by Dr. Lee

Dr. Lee can insert the implant in front of or behind your chest muscles. The best placement location depends on your ultimate appearance goals and whether the doctor needs to correct problems like sagging.

Implant Surface

Saline and silicone implants both have an outer silicone shell. This shell can have a smooth or textured surface. Smooth implants move slightly, mimicking natural breasts, while textured implants promote tissue growth that holds them in place.

Location of Incision

The incision for breast augmentation is typically made in one of three places — the fold under your breast, around the nipple or in your armpit. However, Dr. Lee is able to insert them through your belly-button(transumbilical) if you are concerned with hiding the incision marks.  Dr. Lee is an expert in all of these in breast augmentation methods. With the transumbilical breast augmentation(TUBA) procedure, the incision is made in your belly button to avoid an incision near your breasts. The single incision in your belly button doesn’t leave a visible scar. When you undergo a TUBA, you can only use the deflated saline implants.
